Becoming a DevOps professional is tough without building end-to-end DevOps pipelines and implementing cloud infrastructure. This program is designed with practicality in mind and students will work on 8 projects. including a final capstone project. The complexities and requirements will increase project by project, and students will learn DevOps best practices under the guidance of our expert instructors.

In the final capstone project, the student is required to employ all the concepts and skills learned throughout the program to create an end-to-end software development & DevOps pipeline and present their work to faculty and peers. This includes using software tools Git and GitHub, creating the infrastructures with an IaC tool, setting up CI/CD for the project, deploying their app in Kubernetes and monitoring the infrastructure and applications with the Prometheus stack. A sample project template will be available for students as a launching pad to build from and students are encouraged to extend this template in creative ways.

We also have a capstone project that gives our students the chance to synthesize their learning and build a portfolio piece they can showcase on their resume or LinkedIn profile. This helps them stand out from other applicants when applying for jobs or opportunities.

Learners join live zoom sessions to learn new topics of the week. The instructor will spend 2 hours on theory, use cases and 1 hour on hands-on demo. Students are encouraged to follow along and ask a lot of questions.

Jeff is a DevOps expert and software architect with over 25 years of experience. He’s specialized in the installation, configuration and administration of Kubernetes, Docker and Openshift. In many past projects, he’s implemented CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, AWS, and has helped many companies adopt DevOps best practices. He’s also passionate about machine learning and big data and has helped one of the largest Canadian banks implement MLOps pipelines on Kubernetes.

Learn foundational cloud and infrastructure automation concepts and skills: Linux, cloud platform and infrastructure automation technologies.

Do you offer projects/hands-on training?

What if I miss a few sessions?

Every live-online lecture is recorded so that you can watch them anytime. In addition, you can always book a one-on-one meeting with our TAs to help you catch up with the session you missed.

Do you offer financial support?

WeCloudData is registered as a private career college under the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. As an Ontario-registered private career college, you can apply for a student line of credit from BMO with a lower interest rate. We also work with PayBright to offer payment options through installments.

Do I need to have coding experience to enter WeCloudData’s DevOps program?

It’s helpful to have previous software programming experience and familiarity with coding in general. However, WeCloud’s pre-bootcamp has coding prerequisites that can help you get up to speed with software fundamentals.

What prerequisites are required or will help me succeed in WeCloudData’s DevOps program?

Fundamentals in general IT – hardware, software, networking – Linux, cloud and application development can boost your productivity and success in the program as well as accelerate your time to enter the job market. However, these fundamentals are also covered in the foundations section of the DevOps program.

I am also interested in other WeCloudData programs. Which program should I enrol in?

This depends on your career goals and objectives, as well as what topics you enjoy. We encourage you to hop on a call with our program advisors and program managers to narrow down specific programs of interest for you.

What is required for me to graduate from the DevOps program?

Students must complete the DevOps program projects, midterms and final capstone project in order to graduate and receive the DevOps diploma.

I want to work on business projects during the DevOps program, what’s the process to get started?

This varies on each incoming student’s skill level as well as topical readiness. Please speak to the program advisors and program manager to find the best path forward.

Will the DevOps program help me get certifications, such as AWS solutions architect associate, CKA/D, etc.?

Yes the topics covered have some overlap with certifications such as AWS solutions architect associate and Certified Kubernetes Administrator/ Application Developer (CKA/D). However, students are encouraged to supplement with more materials and review as the program itself does not guarantee passing these certifications.

Will I get help finding a job after completing the DevOps program?

Yes WeCloud has a WeCareer services to help graduates with resume and interview prep as well as career services in general. Please speak to the program advisors and program manager for more details.

Will the DevOps program cover tools and technologies applicable to work?
