SQL is one of the most important skills any data professional needs to master. It has always been one of the top 3 highly demanded skills in the job market for data science, analytics, and data engineering-related positions. This course focuses on teaching students the necessary SQL skills to filter, transform, aggregate, and join relational data and answer complex business questions.

What you will learn

This is NOT an entry level SQL course. The goal is helping our students get job ready. You will receive intensive training on SQL, business presentation, visualization, and get quizzed on Leetcode/Hackerrank questions.

The month long course covers essential SQL programming skills and teaches students how to apply SQL for various business cases. The final project requires students to complete a visual analytics projects using both Tableau and SQL.

About the Program

SQL Fundamentals is a 4-week instructor-led online live course that helps students hone their SQL skills to be job-ready. Students will learn real-world SQL use cases from the instructor and apply what they learn in class to answer business questions.

This is an intensive yet effective course that helps you get started with SQL quickly. Students will not only learn practical coding skills but also learn by working on course projects. At WeCloudData, there’s nothing textbook about our approach.

Students will learn how banks, telecom, and retail businesses use different kinds of relational database systems for CRM, Supply Chain, and Operations. Instructors will cover basic data modeling and help students understand star schema and snowflake schema, and the concept of data warehouse and OLAP cubes.

Ken also received an MBA degree from Rotman Business School, University of Toronto.

Tianshu Luan

Data Science Assistant Instructor @WeCloudData

Tianshu is a Data Science Assistant Instructor at WeCloudData. Prior to joining WeCloudData, Tianshu worked as a high school teacher in Mathematics in various public and private schools in Ontario. Through his teaching career, he is extremely interested in how data collection, data processing, and data analysis can help students in Statistics and help improve the private school system. In his role of Data Science Assistant Instructor, Tianshu is responsible for material and course designing, leading labs, and providing assistance to students. He is very passionate about exploring the possibilities in Python, SQL, and Machine Learning.

Tanya Zhou

Data Developer, Walmart

Tanya is currently a Data Developer at Walmart. She holds a Master’s degree in Statistics and Math from McMaster University. In her day to day work, Tanya performs data analytics on large datasets (terabytes) residing on S3 using SQL / Python / Scala with Apache Spark in order to make data-driven decisions. She is a passionate teacher and is currently an assistant instructor of the SQL course at WeCloudData.
