About the Course

This course introduces advanced data engineering technologies, including NoSQL databases, real-time streaming with Kafka and Spark Streaming, and lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake. Learners will gain hands-on experience with ElasticSearch, Kafka streaming pipelines, and Databricks, developing practical skills to design and implement scalable, high-performance data solutions.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the core concepts and use cases of NoSQL systems and demonstrate how to query and manage data using non-relational models.
  • Design and implement real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka and Spark Streaming for processing and analyzing live data.
  • Develop scalable lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake on Databricks, integrating the benefits of data lakes and data warehouses.
  • Apply tools like ElasticSearch and Databricks to support high-performance, enterprise-level data workflows.

  • Chapter 1: NoSQL

  • Chapter 2: Data Streaming

    Overview:

    In this chapter, you will explore real-time data streaming architectures and learn how to process streaming data efficiently.

    • Introduction to data streaming concepts
    • Kafka architecture and usage
    • Real-time processing techniques
    • Mini Project: build a streaming data pipeline
  • Chapter 3: Lakehouse

    Overview:

    In this chapter, you will learn about lakehouse architectures and how to combine the flexibility of data lakes with the performance of data warehouses.

    Topics:

    • Lakehouse concepts and principles
    • Open table formats and ACID compliance
