They both have the ability to explain concepts in such a way that they can be understood. The slides are also very helpful and provide a solid reference point for the topics discussed thus far. Thank you so much for coordinating an awesome course. The assistant instructor was really great in exposing to us how course material is applied in production level environment. I also like the instructor’s approach of pushing us to build from fundamental to real project using PyTorch first. And then progressing to Tensorflow. Personally, I think it’s a super awesome course, but I believe you really have to dig yourself into the contents and dedicate many head banging hours. But course material is very practical both in theory and application. Thanks much!

I was searching for a machine learning courses in GTA and WeCloudData grabbed my attention for 1. how professional their staffs are, 2. the industry experience the lecturers come with, and, 3. most importantly, that they regularly review and update their course material in response to the trends in the data science job market. I ended up taking several courses from them. They’re much like a real school set-up that I actually felt the peer pressure to keep up with the take-home assignments and projects (which is def a good thing for part-time students).

My work in the capital market has expanded into big data analytics; this requires us to analyze big data efficiently and accurately with better tools. This introductory course provided a practical and reasonable starting point to in learning SQL and Python, which offered an exciting opportunity to develop a new perspective at analyzing financial data while also adding data science knowledge. It is really worth highlighting on their exceptional coursework developed, they are very practical and applicable in the real world use. Right after taking the course, immediately I was able to put in practical use at work; it opened my product to transacting on portfolios in record size and allowed for more in-depth structuring capabilities. Overall, the instructor and teaching assistant is exceptional. It was a great course, and the experience was excellent.

This program is fantastic! I didn’t have a coding background and the way they prepared each module made it easier to understand from basic concepts to Advanced SQL and Python for Data Science that I just finished. There are still 4 modules to go before I become a Data Scientist but it is all very exciting. They really do prepare you and offer great support (includes problem sets, individually and in group and quizzes). The teachers are well connected and help you, no matter the prior experience. When you graduate, you graduate with a portfolio of projects a very good understanding academically and also hands on practise what is important as they showcase your writing capability.

I completed the WeCloudData DS & Big Data Diploma Bootcamp as a Career switcher from with a non-stem background. After completion of the diploma I had the opportunity through WCD to work on projects as an intern with real world clients with their DS/DE teams. The bootcamp + client project opportunity makes WCD the best value for career switchers. After completion of client projects, I was also provided with career support and a mentor (past alum) to help with job hunting. They provided prep. material prior to starting the course to help you get ready for the program. The program itself is very intensive. Be prepared to dedicate yourself fully for the duration of the program. That being said, the instructors and TA’s are mindful of weekends and holidays. If you are serious about Data related career, I highly recommend WCD courses. You get what time and effort you put into the program. Everyday, we had 3-4 hours of lectures and another 3-4 hours of TA office hours where we could work through labs and projects for our portfolio. The TA hours are optional but I highly recommend attending, you learn a lot by participating in them. They host guest lectures and networking events for students with companies actively recruiting DS/DA/DE positions. Attend the guest lectures, very beneficial for networking. Even afterhours, you could reach TAs and Instructors via e-mail or slack. The faculty is very dedicated and always accommodate your questions or struggles during the learning process. ​I never felt alone during the Bootcamp or unassisted. Class sizes are small so you every instructor and TA knows you personally. Honestly, I can’t be more grateful in hindsight for choosing WCD. They make an unmatched effort in ensuring all their graduates get hired.

**Note** I am reviewing for the two courses I graduated from Data science and Data engineering (the drop down didn’t let me select these two) This is the best data and AI school available based on my assessment: can you get a job after completing the program? My answer is yes as I have personally found work each time I enrolled in one of their programs – I enrolled in data science and data engineering bootcamps. Importantly, I came for the knowledge, but stayed for the community. Pros – Teaches you all the relevant topics and skills needed to get the job done in real world – Projects, assignments and exercises to help you build up the muscle memory – Extremely supportive team helping you land a job Cons – The bootcamp is intense and you will have to provide the focus, effort and time commitment – It will feel overwhelming but it’s worth it in the end

I’m writing this review because WeCloudData really changed my life. I’m a Data Engineer now who working in a big data company. But can you imagine before WeCloudData, I have been searching job for 2 years. As a new immigrant without too much IT technical skills, it was really hard to land a satisfying job. Then, I found WeCloudData and took the course of Data Science diploma. This changed my life, I found the data engineer job 4 months after graduation. There are 3 important things I took from WeCloudData: 1 Skills. In WeCloudData I mastered the skills, like python, SQL, pandas, numpy, machine learning, deep learning, linux, AWS etc, which are all must-have skills when searching job in the data industry. 2 Insight of Data. WeCloudData is a purely school on data, which provide us a professional data culture. It make me have a deep understanding about data.This is very important when I was having interviews. 3 Experiences. It is really hard to land a job if you don’t have any experience in an industry, especially in the Data industry. Luckily, I got the experience from WeCloudData. After graduation from WeCloudData, we have options to choose projects and companies to work with according to our career path. You may stay in the project until you land a job. Of course, there are also other benefit about WeCloudData, such as referal, job recommendation, interview coaching, guest lecture, etc. So, if you are new immigrant, or a fresh graduates or a job switcher I highly recommend WeCloudData.

I am a Data Science enthusiast, learning Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning for the last couple of years. Besides doing online courses I have completed the Big Data at Scale from WeCloud data. I would highly recommend WeCloud Data to anyone who wants to learn practical/ applied Data Science and Big Data (Spark, Hadoop, AWS stack, Databases, SQL, NoSQL, Python, Machine Learning). Because I found the team of Shaohua (Instructor) very helpful. Shaohua is highly experienced in the field. The teaching style is very user-friendly where he breaks down difficult topics easy to understand.

After listening and comparing big data courses in different places in Toronto, I went to sign up for all of the WeCloudData courses right after Shaohua’s info session without any hesitation. He is not only very knowledgable and experienced but also teaches so clearly and methodologically, which is way beyond my expectations. I have finished Python and big data courses up far, both courses are well-organized, project-oriented all along. You can start by applying what you have learned, exploring your own tools from there, and also building up step by step as you learn more throughout the courses. Whenever I got stuck, I could get all the help I need from the instructor, TA, and teammates, sometimes I also got motivated by other teams and pushed forward by my instructor to continue working on my project by doing in-class progress report and presentations. The things I have learned here and the final project presentation I did benefit me a lot by showing so much confidence in my big data interviews and helping me handing job offers. Quite often, I feel I know more than my interviewers! Many thanks to WeCloudData, it is a great learning platform with a great instructor, TAs and classmates!!

I took the Big Data at Scale course with WeCloudData. The course introduces the latest big data tools and platforms such as Apache Spark and Amazon Web Services, as well as real-world use cases and industrial best practices. The course also includes an end-to-end group project which will definitely be something you can be proud of. I chose this course basically because my company uses Apache Spark and Hadoop distributed system, and I would like to learn more about it. Surprisingly, what I learned from this course has been far beyond my expectation! I wish I knew WeCloudData earlier so that I wouldn’t have been that struggled at work. Before taking this course, I barely understood some log errors such as “Fail to start name node” and could only write simple queries in spark-shell. Now, I learned the theories behind and improved my programming skills. I am even capable to teach my peers colleagues some materials. Moreover, all the best practices and use cases taught in class gave me great insight of how to build pipelines efficiently and let me practice to think about the big picture of the design. It is actually something I appreciate the most since when I did the project, the overall design architecture just came into my mind immediately after my team defined the scope. I would also like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the instructor Shaohua in this course. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and experienced, one of the best instructors I have ever seen! The way he approaches to a theory is really straightforward and easy to understand. He is nice and patient while answering questions as well and always makes sure every student is on the right track. The program managers of WeCloudData are kind and amiable too. It was a great pleasure to talk to them!

A great place to learn and practice data science. I am taking the Machine Learning course currently, and the instructor Vanessa is amazing, and I get a lot of hands-on exercises, and feedback. I like that the course is not only teaching you how to code, but also teach you the fundamental theories of each tool, and how to apply in the real-life business problems. I highly recommend all their courses to anyone who wants to become a data scientist.

Excellent experience in Weclouddata! The courses are well-organized and keeping up with the ever-evolving data science trend. Each lecture covers a specific DS topic and theory, followed by a real coding demo session, which is really valuable for a data course. Plus, the assignment for each lecture is fully leveraging what has already been learned and requires students’ efforts to dig deeper — I only wish I would have more time after work to go over all of them. A TA session is also designed for each course, which usually occurs once every week or more often. I can always feel free to raise questions there or even offline on Slack. That’s quite supportive!”

I did a lot of research on “data science” bootcamp before I choose WeCloudData. and now I am so happy with my decision. I have learned a lot from the bootcamp (such as Big data tools, AWS, ML algorithms) and client project (such as communication skills and project management skills ). This program offer everything you know to be qualified to become a Data Scientist or Data Analyst. Many topics are covered, from SQL, Business Intelligence, Python, Visualization softwares and basic statistics, to advanced topics such as Machine Learning Models, Deep Learning, Cloud computing, Big Data, and Dockers.Also, the industrial projects made me prepared to handle real data science problems and feel more confident for job searching. After the graduation, I successfully switched to new career.The instructors are very knowledgeable and TA are very supportive when I was in the program. I highly recommend this program to those who’d like to study Data Science and gain more practical skills to become data professionals.

Good news – you can stop searching! I did all the research I could before making the decision to do the Immersive Data Science Bootcamp at WeCloudData and after completing it, I can confidently say it’s the best option you can choose. Shaohua and Vinny are extremely knowledgable instructors and genuinely care about your progress during the bootcamp and in finding a job afterwards. You will learn everything you need to know for entry level DA/DS/DE jobs: Stats, Webscraping, SQL, Python, Machine Learning, Big Data. It’s all covered thoroughly and efficiently. Like most education it will be what you make of it and the program is rigorous so I recommend pausing your life for a few months. The client projects they offer give you legit on-the-job experience and are very helpful during the job search. Not long after I completed the course I was offered a job that exceeded all of my expectations. Many of my classmates had similar results. Lastly, I knew 2 people that took both the WCD bootcamp and $65K+ Masters of Analytics and they both said WCD was clearly superior. If you’re not convinced, then do what I did and try out one of their part-time courses to see if it’s a good fit.

There are tons of successful stories of WCD students, and I got my dream job offer yesterday. And yes, this happens during the worst COVID season. I am so grateful now regarding the choice I made to join WCD’s Data Science diploma program. There are so many schools providing similar programs nowadays, but no one is like WCD. They are specialized, focused and helpful on making students land a data industry job. Their courses contains all necessary skills like SQL, Python Pandas, Python Machine Learning and AWS. What’s fantastic is that they are so experienced on how to train students with these skills to solve real business problems. That’s what’s essential when searching for jobs in the industry. They also provide students with real business projects, so when you start the job searching you are already experienced. Their career services are amazing, too. They helped me during the entire interview processes (of 10+ interviews that I have been into). Shaohua’s 20+ yrs data experience, and Vinny’s technical smartness easily helped me outstand other people when interviewing for a competitive position. In one word, they are amazing, and I thank myself chose the WCD in the first place when I was seeking a new career path.

In short, the whole experience is fantastic, whether you are thinking about learning data science or having a career switch to the data science industry, WecloudData is where you want to begin your journey! I attended the boot camp in January 2020 to have a career switch. Throughout the course, the instructors and TAs are very supportive, even though I don’t have a coding background, they help me out by carefully answering all my questions and proving constructive feedback on my works, and of course, I devoted myself fully to my studies because I know all my efforts will pay off. And it did! I land on my dream job in January 2021. It is obvious that 2020 was a tough year, and we had to switch to online study in March, I was a bit worried that online study may not deliver the same result, but it turns out that I don’t need to worry at all. WeCloudData not only continued to deliver high-quality courses but more importantly, they would call every one of us to track our learning experience and answer our questions. Everyone at WeCloudData is so considerate and I am really grateful for their help. All in all, my experience with Weclouddata is awesome and this is the boot camp I would recommend to all my friends.
